This page is very cool!
Nice job
greeeeeaaaaaaattttt!!!!!!!
For the last two semesters, I've incorporated the film A Man for All Seasons (1966 version) into my paralegal classes. I've held up More as one who not only understood the importance of the rule of law as protection from tyrants, but also recognized that tyrants could pervert the rule of law; thus, leading the just to adhere to a higher law.
Before presenting the film to my class this semester, I decided to check the Internet for information, and found your site. I'm so pleased to find such worthwhile information on this great man so easily accessible.
Thank you.
thomas more's utopia is the political essay that had a profound effect on 20th century politics and government. it was the basis for karl marx's socialist ideals, and for this reason, it changed modern-day politics and economic theory.

This is a great help, especially for fledgiling groups like our St. Thomas More Society in Georgia. What a way to help share ideas, experience and fellowship
OUTSTANDING WEBSITE !!! THOMAS MORE, ONE OF MINE ALL TIME FAVORITE SAINTS, A "TRUE DEFENDER OF THE FAITH, A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS". MAY THE CONTINUATION OF HIS GREATEST LIVE ON FOREVER.

We are just forming a new Roman Catholic Parish in Irvine, California named after St. Thomas More. We are interested in obtaining other information as well as some image we can use in our parish newsletter and promotional material to raise funds to build a church. Can you suggest anything to help in these areas? I think your material here is excellent. Thanks and God Bless You!
I have a question that hopefully you can answer. Why was Sir Thomas More reffered to as a man for all seasons? I would really appreciate it if you could respond. Stacz@AOL.com
Thomas MOre is a fascinating character in history and I was pleasantly surprised to see so much information about him on the web.
Good to visit! Two questions readers might help with: 1. I recently came upon an apparent quote where Thomas said he would have gladly given up his business etc if necessary to spend more time with his family - is this a real quote and where from, please? 2. In the film, he talks to his daughter about the need to be wise, clever, etc - I have lost the words! Any suggestions as to what they were and their source?
Many thanks - stuart.donnan@man.ac.uk

I am doing a project on STM and I have now been blessed! this web site will help me get an A! I will be back!!!!!!!
Would he enjoy the web?
Dear Webmaster, I am delighted to see so many people, especially lawyers interested in the life of Saint Thomas More. I have always admired him greatly. Last summer I traveled to England to to see as many sights as possible related to him. The highligt of the trip was when I received a privately guided tour of his cell in the Tower of London. His cell is no longer open to the public, and so it was a great event to have the Governor of the Tower show me around. Keep up the good work for the love of Saint Thomas More. Robbie Masterson robbie@bluegrass.net
I added a page of links that might be useful for everybody. I hope you enjoy it. check More about More. The webmaster

20 years ago I was able to purchase a copy of the classic portrait of Thomas More, he's still my favorite Englishman. Thanks for your page.
Please add St. Thomas More's "Prayer Before the Practice of Law" to your site. Thank you
On this, the feast day of St. Thomas More, I wish to thank him for his guidance and protection these past several years. Since discovering St. Thomas as an undergrad, I have been a true follower and believer in his ideals. I never teach a class without his portrait in my room. Great web site, I will be a frequent visitor.

I wish I knew more about this Saint and jurist. Your site has helped my knowledge. How many lawyers today would be willing to die for their beliefs instead of swearing to an oath of allegiance to his "king"?? Thanks for an informative site.
Thank you for this page about my special Saint. When I left the Episcopal Church and came to Rome I chose St Thomas as my special Saint. I wish I had understood his message earlier.
Jane Clinkert: I have been in love with Thomas More for 10 years and it is incredible to see all the people who share in this admiration-tell us more about societies in the midwest!
This is the most complete site on Thomas More that I have found on the web. Great!
Very nice website! Well put together!! Peace K.Miles
The information is wonderful!! Glad to have renewed my acquaintance with this beautiful man of God!! Anne Burkard
Thanks for the comprehensive information and the attractive design
Would you be so kind as to consider adding More's address in discharge of his conscience? His speech remains one of the finest addresses to a jury in history. Otherwise, thank you for the excellent and interesting WebSite. Chris McNally.
I and my brother were graduated from a Jesuit and Catholic university, Fairfield University. My brother is an attorney who is attempting to revive a society of Catholic attorneys that is based on More. So far, the abundance of information is impressive. If you could tell me if there is a network of attorneys who have formed Thomas More societies, I would be grateful. Regards, Lennono@aol.com
Thank you very much for establishing this web site. I am doing a report about him for school and without this web page, I would never have finished or had such thorough details about his life. Thank you again!

A Thomas More society is wonderful idea. I would like to know if such a society exists in Canada, if so can you tell me where? In addition, if such a society doesn't exist could I start one at my university? Cameron Branston, cbransto@trimarktrust.ca or yu166099@yorku.ca
I am a freshman in college and this website just provided me with my primary source for a 15 minute discussion on the life of Thomas More. Thankyou!

I've been an informal scholar of Thomas More for the past twenty years and I was delighted to see your website. Would be interested in hearing from other admirers of More at midlifemom@snet.net--Barbara Pierce

I am interested in beginning a STM Society for Catholic Lawyers in Lafayette and I am glad to see that there is a webb page. I will be calling some of the other organizations for assistance. Thanks for being here.
I was researching More for a paper, and I came across this site. I noted that there was little to do with his critics, and was wondering if you could add something of the sort to the site. Present both sides of the arguement, so to speak.
More was a very amasing man, and his essays were magnificents. Cool website. Keep up the good work.

I am a professor and long time admirer of St Thomas More. My interest in More has grown in recent years as I have increasingly thouth about Christian Humanism and civic humanism. I am interested in getting more involved in the study of the life and writings of Thomas More.

As I am studying "utopia" at University, this web-site has proved an invaluble tool. Keep up the good work! yours sincerely, Jimbo (University of Glasgow)
Very nice site. I am a graduate of St. John Fisher College and have found both John Fisher and his martyred brother Thomas More to be great symbols of the possibilties of mankind. Keep up the good work. You may add a link to St. John Fisher for those interested in more information on one of Thomas More's contemporaries.

This websit is awesome. I am taking a British Literature class and I am doing a report on the parallels of More as a Christlike figure and Utopia as being representative of Israel in the Old Testament. Your website has helped me so much. Thank you for providing such an informative, exciting, and educational tool. :-) Sincerely, Kim Savage c/o delaine@internetwork.net

Very useful for school work.
We are studying Thomas More in my college Western Civilation class, and I found this site to be extremely helpful in my understanding of his life.
Elizabeth Rotzell-very useful and informative- Thanks
I'd like some more information about his writings
A good website but didn't have the info I was looking for. Otherwise a damn fine website
I must commend you for your work in creating a site which is most valuable in writing a research paper. Your page has helped me to complete my thesis paper and has given me a greater understanding of a true defender of the faith

I found the site to be geared for for the attorneys, and for the Christian life of Attorney. This is refreshing to knoe that attorneys are not a bunch of sharks. (No insult intended) However, I would like to know if there is a group for people like myself who choose to follow the example Saint Thomas More, have chosen hin for their Patron Saint, BUT are not attorneys. That would be nice. Thank you very much.

Thomas More was a great man. I recently read A Man for all Seasons and Utopia for my twelfth grade writing class. I was impressed by the moral integrity of More and was also intrigued by all the paradox in his life and works. This site is awsome. I would be interested in seeing more information about what More writes in relation to the way he lives Thanks!
Very informative. An excellent web site.

Having recently discovered that my Moore family descends from Sir Thomas More, I found your webpage while attempting to learn more about More. I am astounded ! Can you suggest where I can find anything on the genealogy of Thomas More?
Kerry Moore, Dallas, TX
For many years, my wife and I have been teachers for senior high school level students (grades 8-12)in our church's Religious Education department. We make extensive use of Bolt's 'A Man for All Seasons',in the film version, as a starting point for our discussions on morality, peer pressure, "expert opinion", etc. More's life is an excellent model for any time. He was truly 'for all seasons'.
I would appreciate hearing from others who are using More as an exemplar, particulary with the young adults. -John G. Gallagher- jggallag@cristal.com or momg@cristal.com

You've saved my life... I am writting a report for History. Thanks!
Very helpful to High School Student doing report--thank you very much
Facts on this Web site verify that the cassette tape from my local library on Thomas More is accurate. Both are being used for a Baha'i talk I'm giving in 2 days. The example of his moral and ethical standards are dateless. Many thanks.
St. Thomas More has always been an inspiration to me because despite the fact that he faced death by decapitation he steadfastly refused to acknowledge Henry as leader of the Church. I like your web page and I am going to keep it in my favorites folder.
Thank you for the gift of this wonderful web site. I have long had a special devotion to this wonderful Saint, and I pray that all who share in studying his life will find the courage to face adversity as did he. I must recommend to anyone serious about studying St. Thomas More to read "Roper's, The Life of More" writen by his son - in - law William Roper. May Our Lord and Saviour Bless all who study His Good Saint.

Although I am not a lawyer, I am the son of one. My father always had a special place for St. Thomas and he passed it on to me. In these times of diminishing ethics, whether it be in law or business, we should look to this great man as a beacon of integrity and humanity.
This is a terrific website, kep up the good work!!

Hi! My name is Takela Corbitt, and I had to do a term paper on Sir Thomas More. This Web Page really helped me a lot. It contained lots of helpful information. Your page is really good.
Sah-weet!
Hello, My name is Twila Nesky. I am a direct descendant of Sir Thomas More, the oldest daughter of the oldest daughter all the way back to his oldest daughter Margaret. A brooch has been handed down to each of the daughters until it was my grandmother's turn. This brooch was given to Sir Thomas by the queen (Elizabeth?) and bore her likeness. Since I am now the Mother of the next oldest daughter in line, I am making it my quest to reunite the brooch with the rightful heir. Also being a writer, I aim to right about the recovery. Is anyone interested? I would appreciate comments and suggestions on how I can go about this search. I also thought your society may be interested in our story. My e-mail address is lumpyp@imagina.com. Thank you.

First website I was able to get
I am a student at Hays High School and am doing a report on Thomas More, however I have not been able to find the imformation that I need about hislife. If you could make this web site more easy to use then I will consider using this web sit again.
Good job. I am doing a research report and this is the most lively page. The rest are just quotes from some encyclopedia or another. Good job, and I think with this info, I can ace this thing.
This page Is cool and a very good sorce of information. Great Job whoever made this page
I was here earlier today
He's dead, get over it
This page sucks
Guy Rosenburg: I think Sir Thomas More was a very brave man. He stood up for what he believed in which I think every person should do. Utopia which he writes sounds like a place where everyone is happy. It seems to me however that a Utopia is not going to take place for quite a long time, maybe never. For me I like capitalim and think it's the best system we know of. To get rid of the lower class they should get a job and invest in the market.
Thank-You
By far the best and deepest biography of Saint Thomas More I have had the chance to read is that of Christopher Hollis, published in 1934. I heartily recommend it to anyone wishing to understand the depth of the man, the father and the saint, Thomas More.
Thank you for this web page.
I just came here to research for a special homework assignment but I actually found this very interesting. I especially found the link with the chapters on Sir Thomas More interesting. Thanx, this site is way Kawaii!! -Amoraq, Canada

I'm doing a report to my Honors European History about Saint (Sir) Thomas More's life, I've found a lot on him and think he was a very faithfilled person.

I think it's a very boring site. Moresucks
Doesn't anybody care that this creature of the letter of the law burned people to death. People that did not think the way he wanted them to. If he had succeeded in suppressing the reformation, we would all still be enslaved to the Catholic Church and all it's inherent evils. I am sure all the victims of murder and rape committed by the Popes would sure like a second chance at this tunnel visioned miscreant.
Hey, this is Brian from Voorheesville, Ny
I'm writing a research paper on Tom, thank you for your help!!!
Very nice site
pienso que es muy malo
More's a anchor of moral behavior and maintaining the courage of one's convictions; it's unfortunate, however, that many Christians/Catholics claim these attributes as theirs alone. His truths are universal--the church (and its relationship to the throne) only gave him a framework and a forum to raise his philosophy to a visible level. This is an excellent website and a public service.
Somewhere in Virginia
Sir Thomas More was a man of great principles and he gained great prestidge with writing Utopia.

Very interesting sight. I have seen two different dates of Sir Thomas More's canonisation, 1889 and 1935. Also I cannot find out why he was canonized. The Catholic church says a Saint must bring about at least two posthumous miracles, I have never found what Thomas More's were. If you could contact me withthis information or tell me where it can be found, I would be gratefull. My address is Mark.m@ns.sympatico.ca thank you - Mark

Excellent to find a website devoted to my favourite person. Thomas More was attitude to heretics owed much to his desire that Christendom (Europe) remain united. Thought provoking perhaps during these days of conflict in the Balkans.

I have discovered that Thomas More's body is in the crypt of the chapel of the Tower in London. I understand from the warder I spoke to that Thomas More's head is buried with his daughter in the Catholic church in Canterbury. I wouild like to have his body moved from the tower and buried with his head in his own space in the same church as his duaghter or any other Catholic church in England. Tangentally, I would also like to have St John Fisher's body removed from the crypt of the Tower and suitably buried as a Saint in the Roman Catholic church should be buried. He shares the same saints day as St Thomas More on the US Catholic calendar. Is anyone aware of any work being done to move these saints' bodies and properly bury them?

I'm simply trying to find a source of intelligent discourse on the many troubling things that are overwhelming life and liberty here on earth. i have not been able to find one yet but i am rather slow with computers thus far anyway.
this site should talk about his travels. lots of kids doing reports need to know that stuff
From my decade of study of More, I don't find him to be such an advocate of unbridled (not to mention inane) free speech that he would approve of the outlet your guestbook is currently providing to some "clever" individuals who seem to have mistaken it for the Jerry Springer chatroom. Thankfully these comments are few and far between, but I for one would like to see the memory of the man respected by making them even fewer and farther between. As More was wont to say about religious freedom, people should have the liberty to think what they wish (we could hardly forbid it even if we wanted to); we are not obliged, however, to give them a forum to say whatever they like. I hope you will cull the mindless garbage from the guestbook so that serious readers will not have to waste their time reading it. This sort of profanity and puerile self-expression certainly does no honor to Thomas More either as a saint or as a human being.
Perfect for what I wanted!!!!!!!

To Whom it may Concern, I am continually in awe of people in history, who seem to be possess morals, so out of place in comparison with others of their time.
This site needs more informatin
really good page, just needs more pictures
Excellent site! I've been fascinated with More since I saw "A Man for All Seasons" at age 12. I read everything I can find about him and was glad to see that he has a strong Web presence. I didn't know about the Thomas More Societies, so I'll be checking those out. Thanks! -- Laura Del Col, Morgantown, W.Va.
I like your work, especially when it comes to doing a homework about him. It helped me a lot in school. I'm from Costa Rica and thanks to you, I've been able to do my homework. Thanks.
Sir Thomas More is so cool! He's so famous that Drew Barrymore (in Ever After) hugs his book at night, lovingly. I know why too. He gets alot, just look at his (last) name. His name can take the place of Johnny Deeper. He's so hot!
-Naydia Bauman
This is a great site. It helped with my History Final. Thanks alot

Thank you thank you, merci!!!
So greatful that such a site exists!
Dear Sir I'd like to know if I can find some book in portuguese or spanish with omnia opera from Thomas More. Thanks in advance Lacaz e-mail roglruiz@usp.br
St.Sir.Thomas More is a good example for all Catholics to follow. His life revolved around the loyalty and obidence of the Church though the leaders of the Church did not practice Christ's virtues, Thomas More was obident to the Church. He is my favorite Saint.
Are things going on with this remarkable webside gerhard helmstaedter, ghelmstaedter@debitel.net
as unintelligable as this sounds i first formed the opion to check into the works of thomas more from a recent movie entilted, "ever after" i found this page and his story "utopia" truly inspiring and a great bridge in history to what the politcal policies where indeed about. i have found a great compassion and admiration for tom more as a result of reading the story and the histroical background supplied here on this page. i find hugely encouraging to me, even today, that people have convictions and morals strong enough to die for. i think that degree of presistance to what you believe in something lacking in today's society. i did not take a class to learn about, nor have a particular interest in the pratice of obtain information on saints. i did so, because of a line from the work utopia spoken in the movie mentioned above. please if you have not seen it, do so, it will make the entire essay come alive even moreso then it already is after hearing it in comon place.
thanks lamb_7@hotmail
I am a student and am currently reading his book "Utopia." I think it is a marvalous book, and should be reading criteria for high schools. For it is a great reading challenge and looks a lot harder to read than it really is. -----Amy Jepson, Canada.
A message from Argentina, South America. It´s really grat to find something GOOD in the web. Please go on, no matter the supid comments some nasty people send.
As a member of the Board of the Dallas Diocese St. Thomas More Society, I was thrilled to find this web page. Great job!!! - Katherine
Jeff Meshinsky Fascinated to see a web-site devoted to Life of Thomas More. Read book by Peter Ackroyd "Life of Thomas More" and was interested in seeing what other information existed out there. Lo and behold there's an entire web-site.
Average.Very average. Where's the porn? I want to see young teenage girls getting plugged
i love the web site on thomas more. continue the good work
i love the web site on thomas more. continue the good work
I think it's excellent to have a website about Thomas More. I notice that although there are international Thomas More Societies listed there does not appear to be one based in England. There are, too, societies made up of of RC lawyers but not ones with lay people who are not lawyers. As well as being a leading lawyer, More was a first rate example of a Catholic lay man. We can all learn from him.
Thank you for providing me/us with a valuable research source, your information and in depth look into Thomas More's life is great for my essay.
Jeff M
I think that this website does not give enough information about Sir Thomas More.
good web-site. The man is my hero, as a Catholic and a judge, I can't read enough about this saint! Thank you.
Good, helpful site. The man is my hero. As a Catholic and a judge, I cannot read enough about this saint! He inspires me in my profession and in my faith. Thank you for honoring him.

Several years ago I gave the only copy I have ever come across of the complete works of Sir Thomas More away to someone as a gift, thinking I would find another soon. I have yet to find another...it was a two volume set from the early 1900's..I checked via Yahoo and found your site...I am interested in knowing if this is the same Thomas More, or Thomas Moore...I am mainly interested in his poetic works, but would appreciate any information. Please send any correspondance to SpaceCadetBob@yahoo.com Thank you.
i enjoyed this website i used because of a paper that i am doing on SIR THOMAS MORE and his UTOPIA thank you
I have long admired the man, but I am curious as to why he seems to have such a following in Texas! I had no idea he was so widely known or that there were actual societies!! I would love to discuss relevant things with intelligent people and am eager to learn more. Catch me on seamoose@x-stream.co.uk
I`m from Portugal and I love it...in my school the subject on the moment is him,and I`m enjoyed every moment. The web it`s very cool. Every time that I need to see something about Thomas More I will came here Caty
Thank you for this very well constructed site. Have you, or anyone visiting the site, heard of a biography of More written by A Striensky, I believe in French, and published about 1899? I would be very grateful for any information to my e-mail address as follows: jacqueline lewis@ninety-nine.in2home.co.uk. Many thanks.
Thomas More has been someone outstanding in my life. He is a saint, a very clever person, practical and above all something we all need to imitate: with an incredible sense of humour. I really enjoy reading his works: "letters from the tower" "From Confort and Tribulation" and so forth
He gives me light to many different aspects in my daily life since he did not want to be a martyr but let himself in God's arms. I will not forget his expression to Ropper after attending to one of the many sessions at Hampton Court "The battle is wun". Besides he teaches me how to pray and how to be a religious person within this world. Every time I come to England I need to go to Canterbury.
I like your web site although I miss the portrait made by Holbein.
Wonderfully inspiring!

I have finally found it! I have been searching for Utopia for quite some time now. Ever since I glimpsed it in Ever-After I had the compelling urge to read it. Well I'm off to enjoy. ~Jolie~
I was really grateful for this website. It really helped me out tremendously with my paper. It gave me a lot of insight. When reading the book i really did not understand it that great, but this website gave me a better understanding. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Ben
Cool Website!!! Check out http://www.0707.com sometime. Ech one of the banners is one of my websites. These are all cool clean sites like http://www.qpolice.com filled with police badges and patches and each has a link to the police website it represents.
really,really,really useful,thanks
this all started when i was given a very open-ended assignment to do for my philosophy class. find an example of the rationalist tradition and a critique of the rationalist tradition and compare them... it sounds difficult yet simple. so here i am, wandering around the internet for historical information about the life and times and criticisms of Sir Thomas More and his UTOPIA. the criticism, by the way, is Vladimir Nabokov's BEND SINISTER, a really wonderful, fantastical piece of fiction. but what does your site have to offer me? is there a site that states what was happening socially and politically throughout More's life? I clap my hands to sites that mention philosophy in connection with More, but I (mentally at least) boo to sites that can only mention his imprisonment and execution. is that all that people care for nowadays?

I think that this web site is really interesting and very helpful. I have just been on it and right away I was able to get the infos. I need. It's really cool and I also like the titles...I kind of copied the style for my title page if it's okay. Well, thank you...oh...just a little request...put more pictures if possible...but other than that...everything looks GOOD! Keep up the good work! Buh-Bye!
Hello all you Sir Thomas More fans. I am doing a research paper on Sir Thomas More. He was geat man. Jessica
A wise choice to get Gerard Wegemer to write the biographical notes. His book is the best available in my view, telling us so much about the interior life of this great lay saint. Does anyone know how to obtain a St Thomas More prayer card, preferably with a picture of him? They can't be got here in England (the one place where there's no excuse!). No time to visit the rest of this most promising site tonight, but I'll be back! Best wishes, Thomas Teague (an English barrister) Email address: teague@edunet.es
i was very pleased to find such an informative website on my favourite saint. It has also been a great help to my daughter for her year 4 assignment of St Thomas More. Margaret O'Malley
Great Website. I hope to visit again soon.
So why hasn't the rest of the world found honor in honesty
I think it's good! It has many interesting and useful information, especially for the reports!
great site. keep up the good work.
this site is good but i hate thomas more and i think he should rot in hell!! very useful info though....for school... i love john
excellent St.Thomas More Pray for Us
excellent St.Thomas More Pray for Us The remains discovered in the Tower of London were all jumbled up in the 1930's and More's bones were not properly identified. His head indeed was taken down from the spike on London Bridge by a Catholic and does now reside in Canterbury, not in a Catholic church but in the home of a decendant. As for John Fisher his body lies in the Anglican church of All Hallows by the Tower which is unfortunate. The place where St. Thomas' remains lie is not open to the public but I had the pleasure to visit on an annual Catholic pilgrimage and a fine bust/statue of him lies there in a prominent position in a little shrine.
Thats all for now folks!
Regards, A Thomas More devotee from old London town.
The site was good. It had alot of info. on Sir Thomas More. If anyone does not like the site then thats to bad. Great job on the site.

I'm Eric Pomposelli and i liked this website because it helped me with my homework. Keep up the good work!
although i have not looked at this web site yet i would just like to say that i am facinated by the idea of a utopia, and in the process of comming up with my own. maybe even putting into a book or something of that sort. maybe one of you may end up reading it. however, while i have been thinking about my utopia i have found that life is filled with too many ambiguities to focus on just one type of society. what i mean is that one could think of a utopia as something of a primitive lifestyle, with nothing except their bodies being ruled by territorial and brutal pityless laws. or one could find themselves wanting to live in a society completely at the mercy of technology. i find myself in the middle of both of those and am looking to read "utopia" so that i may look at other works so that i might be able to put my thoughts down with some organization and to get some new ideas.
hi i like thomas more!!!

The Web site is tremendous. Is it possible to ask a question ? If so, I am interested in finding a copy of the crest/ emblem chosen by St. Thomas More when he was made a knight and which he had installed in the his parish church at Chelsea, London. If anyone knows, I can be contacted at <br@stbedes.melb.catholic.edu.au> With thanks
Hi, I think this site is great! I'm a direct descendant of Thomas More, and so I'm really interested in his life and his writings. It's great to see this fantastic web site about Thomas More! Louise ljbt@hotmail.com
A new-comer to the internet I am delighted at this web-site. I have been a life-long admirer of St, Thomas More,an inspirational figure to a lawyer/judge .I would very much like to hear from you. Bill Fetherstone of 15 Balmoral Road .New Longton,Preston,PR4 4JJ England
"Happy is the person who can distinguish between a rock and a mountain, it avoids so many inconveniences." --St. Thomas More. I tried to remember this when I saw all the filth in the comments on your website. I pray that seeds are planted in all who learn of Thomas More, and that his witness will lead many to Rome. I am writing an article on More now, emphasizing that many of the things he saw as crucial in his time are now crucial again, but within the Catholic Church. --Ken Craven

Yours is a sweet voice in The Wilderness.
I have drawn the name of Sir Thomas More from a basket of saints names for the purpose of spending a year with him as my own special companion. Thank you very much for such easy access to his writings and to so many various types of commentary about him.

Having just returned from London for a 4 day trip (to relax from Feb. 18 - 21), I stopped by Tower of London to pour over history. I asked if one could see the cell where Sir Thomas More stayed and the Beefeater responded, "This year of the Millenium we've opened it for the first time to the public for a couple of months - - but only on special request." He pointed out to me the booth (inside the Tower grounds) to go to and make the special request. They gave me a ticket and a Beefeater took me to a room inside the Queen's Residence (which were built for Ann Boleyn) and are attached to the Bell Tower. Inside this room was a display of Thomas More's final hair-shirt that daughter Margaret Roper took from him; some of his letters; pictures, etc. The Beefeater than took us into the attached cell where More spent his final 15 months prior to execution. We were allowed to stay as long as we wished. I asked the Beefeater how long the cell (and display room) would be open to the public - - and he said likely only another month or so (depending on interest). I would encourage you to post a prominent notice in your (well designed) web-site that this viewing of his cell is available. I had read Peter Ackroyd's book (along with Farrow's) and had developed a fond interest in More's history. Thanks for your web-site.

This is a wonderful website. I am a direct descendant of Richard Rich, who apparently took part in More's execution. It's not something that has been discussed much in our oral family history, probably for obvious reasons. I'm just hunting for information about More's life and legacy, in an effort to learn more about my own.
You've done a wonderful job.
Juli Lawrence julianne@aol.com
Nicely organised web site but I think that More deserves sth more detailed in terms of the 'necessity' of his death.

This site was really good for finding out about Thomas More.
This is an OK Site
I can't get into your site
Thanks so much for publishing the e-text of Utopia. I was really thrilled.
If it''s not asking too much, can you suggest me where I can download "The Spanish Tragedy" by Thomas Kyd? I shall be most grateful if you could guide me on this.
Your website is most useful for people who are devoted to pursuing an intellectual life and who're interested in loftiness rather than mundaneness.

Wonderful Web Site Robin W.
This site rocks..I came here for a project and then..I learned alot more than I intended. Thomas More was brave and stood up for what he believed in. That is cool.
Thank You.
this site wasn't as helpful as i would have liked but thanks anyways
I am doing a 10000 word essay on this dip
I quite enjoyed your website. It would be rewarding should you seek to update the site and maybe include some European dates and contacts( I write from Italy). As for Thomas More, I have just reread Peter Ackroyd's biogrophy on him which I found as noble as its' subject. His fortitude and consistency (both spiritual and intellectual)and well-informed faith have left a vivid example for modern society to strive toward.
Very rewarding
I think this web site really sucks because it has none of the information that I need for my report on Thomas More. I havent looked at the site yet but it looks like it wont have anything that I need or want for my person. I really need information about how More viewed the role of the people and rulers. ok so if u find this information then send it to this e-mail address and u wil be awarded dearly. email me at icecold007@aol.com-----thank you so much bye.
I have such high respect for Saint Sir Thomas More, especially after I saw the movie, "A Man for All Seasons." He was the perfect "Renaissance Man." Your website has filled me also with even more information about him, which makes me even happier to have learned of him. I like this website a lot and hope that you all have the best of luck with it!

they need more of the stuff you'd find in the school text books in here. They get way too deep for, like, school reports. A nice, easy look into his life from a scool book would be nice.
i think the web sight is pretty cool but i want to know when the utopia was written.

Thanks for having the site. Dave Brown
This site on thomas more has helped me emensley in the understanding of him.;
I am simply trying to find a summary of Utopia, but I cannot. Also, a brief summary of the meaning and symbolism would be nice. I am really having a hard time!
The following quotation was said to come from Sir Thomas More's Utopia. However, I have not been able to locate the piece. Does anyone know it's origins?Email: peter.kitchenman@vuw.ac.nz “Take a barren year of failed harvests when many thousands of men have been carried off by hunger. If at the end of the famine the barns of the rich were searched, I daresay enough grain would be found in them to save the lives of all those who died from starvation and disease, if it had been divided equally among them.”
I have enjoyed your web site, and I really loved looking for him in London. I finally found the site where he was beheaded. I have read in the biography by Richard Marius that the clock painted in the family portrait is still in existence. Where is it? Is it on display? Also when I was in London two years ago, someone told us that they were in the process of rebuilding his home site nearby. Do you know anything about these questions? Could you put me in touch with anyone who might? lois@2xtreme.net

Dear David,
Father Robinson and I are at the computer looking for legal Societies and Organizations to send an invitation to visit our web site. I was surprized to see your name as the person to contact! We are asking for comments - I hope you or someone in the St. Thomas More Society will look in.
Thanks!
